Assorted ramblings from the world of entertainment:

• The next time The Vindys play locally, the band will have a new rhythm section.

The band officially announced on social media Wednesday that bass player Matt Jackson and longtime drummer Ed Davis are leaving the band.

Jackson, who also records as a solo artist, is moving to Austin, Texas, for a teaching job and played his last show with The Vindys in May. He’ll be playing his own music Friday at Westside Bowl in Youngstown, opening for Skylar Love.

Davis, who played with the band at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre earlier this month but didn’t play for its set at the Wonder Road music festival in Indianapolis the following weekend, will be “on hiatus to focus on work and family,” according to the band’s statement. “Ed and Matt have been a huge part of The Vindys’ early success, and we cannot be more lucky to have them be a part of our family forever and always! We wish them all the best and all the happiness going forward!”

Lead singer Jackie Popovec said via text the band will rely on “multiple great players” to handle existing tour dates.

• I did a story that ran Monday on Warren native Michael O’Grady appearing this week on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” playing guitar with Paris Jackson (daughter of the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson).

Standing to the singer’s left, O’Grady got plenty of screen time on Tuesday’s show during the performance of Jackson’s new single “Lighthouse” and a few close-ups of his guitar playing.

He also could be seen next to Fallon when he greeted the band post-performance, and Fallon and O’Grady were shaking hands as the show broke for commercial.

For those, like me, who might have been wondering what the PK stood for on O’Grady’s guitar and the bass drum, that’s Jackson’s handle on Twitter and Instagram (I hate Twitter and don’t do the ‘gram). Her middle name is Katherine.

• Also a guest on Fallon Tuesday was Hannah Einbinder, one of the stars of the HBO Max series “Hacks.”

There are so many television options these days, I’m at the point where I look for reasons not to watch things. I’ve seen bits and pieces while my daughter and wife watched Season 4 of “Stranger Things,” but I think I’m done with that show. I read episode synopses of the last several episodes of “Ozark” rather than continue watching a show that no longer held my interest.
