Law grants immunity when vaccines harm

DEAR EDITOR:

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and his health department director, Dr. Amy Acton, keep talking about life not getting back to normal until we have a vaccine for COVID-19. As a person whose life has been greatly impacted by my son’s vaccine injury, I would like people to know about the PREP act, the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, for medical countermeasures against COVID-19.

On Feb. 4, 2020, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar signed this into effect. Please look it up. Essentially any countermeasure put forth, including a vaccine, indemnifies the government, the manufacturers and anyone who administers a vaccine. They can’t be sued if you are injured or killed.

Think about what life would be like if you weren’t around or weren’t able to take care of your family. Vaccine injuries happen all the time, but you never hear about them because the manufacturers of children’s vaccines have been indemnified since 1986, when companies threatened to leave the market because their vaccines were injuring and killing people and they were getting sued frequently.

Look how many vaccines children get today. Life may never get back to normal after a vaccine injury. It didn’t for my family.
