Get us off this path of self-destruction
DEAR EDITOR:
In response to the article by Erick Erickson on April 16.
He is portraying Biden as a dictator who has the power to enforce his actions single-handedly. In our democracy, “the way it should work” is the people elect a leader. Then, that leader has to work with Congress and the rest of the government to either enable or disable that plan to ensure that plan is the best action and consequences for the nation.
When this fails, put the blame where it belongs, on the rest of the government, which cannot put the wellness of our nation above party differences and work together.
I was born during the Depression. I was proud to be a citizen of the United States of America, and how we worked together to survive and become this great nation. After these last eight years, I am disconsolate by what we have become.
Our nation’s future is at stake.
Do the job that you were elected to do. Work together and get us off this path of self-destruction. Make us a nation that we can be proud of again.
