Warren library hosting family book day and area authors

A Family Book Day and Local Author Fair are planned Saturday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library.

Family Book Day is a celebration of books and reading with a variety of activities for all ages. Attendees ages 18 and younger will receive a free book at the event, which also will include crafts, games and gaming for children and teens from noon to 4 p.m., an appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog at 2:30 p.m. and a puppet show at 3 p.m.

Author Justin A. Reynolds will do a presentation and book signing at 11 a.m. Reynolds’ debut YA novel, “Opposite of Always,” was a School Library Journal “Best Book” and translated in 19 languages. A film adaptation is in development. He also is the author of the Marvel graphic novel “Miles Morales: Shock Waves.”

Author Lindsay Bonilla will do a reading and book signing at 1 p.m. She is the author of several picture books, including “Polar Bear Island” (a Parents’ Choice Award winner), “The Note Who Faced the Music” and “The Storyteller.”

The library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, also will host 14 area writers for a Local Author Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Scheduled to participate are Chelsea Banning, BJ Barnes, Amanda Bryk, Carl Elton Cook, Jelisa Dallas, Cari Dubiel, M.E. Greenfield, Robert A. Middleton, Victoria Perkins, Mariellen Rich, Karen Schubert, Phillip Suarez, Mialie T. Szymanski and Leah Williams.
