GREENE — The duo Take II will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a performance Friday.

Ellie Kovell, vocals, and Bob Walton, guitar and vocals, met at a karaoke night and after months of rehearsals played a first gig in the fall of 1995. They started out as an acoustic duo but now use backing tracks to present a full band sound. Take II performs at bars, restaurants and wineries throughout the area. Walton and Kovell also play several of the summer concert series in the Mahoning Valley and performs annually at Ghoulardifest in greater Cleveland.

The anniversary show starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Green Eagle Winery, 2576 Davis Peck Road, Greene, and is open to the public.
