A March 9 Vindicator story noted that for the fourth consecutive year, the number of fatal crashes in Ohio has declined. Speed-related crashes were the highest type in Mahoning County, 3,130 from January 2021 to the present. Ohio should have never changed the speed limit to 70 mph on the highways. People now go 80 mph. There is just so much to complain about with Donald Trump

DEAR EDITOR: After spending a week away, I returned home to a week’s worth of The Vindicator. Taking in several of the political cartoons on the opinion page is truly eye opening. Only The Vindy could bemoan the cost of the space program while Trump spends billions in a “Trumped Up” war. I see that the Easter Bunny is a Republican. No eggs for Democrats. With the current cost of groceries nobody is getting meat with those eggs! Board of Elections should be located in Youngstown

DEAR EDITOR: The Mahoning County Board of Elections should be near the city center of Youngstown and not on a far side of town nearing any suburbs and not convenient to the freeway. People from all sides of town go to the Board of Elections to register or to vote, and being out of the center of town will cause many an inconvenience. DEAR EDITOR: The Environmental Protection Agency just announced that Ohio is no longer on the list of states that do not meet clean air standards. U.S. Rep. Dave Joyce writes, “As someone who has worked hard to promote policies that protect our environment and boost our economy, this announcement proves that both goals can be achieved.” U.S. Sen. Trump needs to employ diplomacy, not ultimatums

DEAR EDITOR: I agree that it is imperative for us to eliminate Iran’s pursuit of nuclear warfare but the president’s ultimatum to Iran and his comments about “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again” serves only to throw fuel on the fire.
