Revoking EPA finding will endanger us all

DEAR EDITOR: For 16 years the EPA Endangerment Finding helped protect our environment and our heath and was an important tool in fighting climate change. The “endangerment finding” is the EPA’s scientific and legal conclusion that the Clean Air Act requires regulation of greenhouse gas emissions to protect public health and welfare. The EPA issued the finding in the Supreme Court’s 2009 Massachusetts v. EPA decision. But the Trump EPA has revoked the endangerment finding, which endangers us all. DEAR EDITOR: The aggrieved neighbors on Truesdale Road, in regard to the abandoned house at 727 Truesdale, want to thank Boardman Township and the Board of Trustees for their concern surrounding the many issues presented at the April 6 township board meeting. The trustees are being responsive and empathetic to the situation. They are taking action to clean up the grounds and repair the hole in the roof. Although this is a welcome first step, it does not fully solve the underlying issue of an abandoned, blighted house that appears to be uninhabitable and remains an eyesore. We ...

DEAR EDITOR: Thank you to Frank LaRose for making it extremely difficult to find the absentee ballot application online. Upon visiting the Mahoning County Board of Elections website and clicking on “Request an Absentee Ballot” then “Download Application Form,” I am redirected to the Ohio Secretary of State website. Scrolling past a smiling photo of Mr. LaRose, I finally see “Absentee Ballot Request” at the bottom, which takes me to yet another page which, after reading through a jumble of directions and links, seems to require me to fill out an HTML form before finally ...

This is not speculation or a passing idea. YSU is on the list. That should alarm every resident of this region. YSU is more than a campus.
