Bug Day creates some buzz at Mill Creek
Mill Creek MetroParks will have its annual “Bug Day” on Saturday at Ford Nature Center. It offers insect-inspired fun and education for visitors of all ages.
Attendees can see demonstrations by “The BugMan” Mark Berman, a butterfly exhibit by Katie Shipka and learn about beekeeping from local “Bee-Manager” Don Kovach. Hand-on activities include bug-catching and release, bug-themed crafts, a “Bad Bug” forest walk and educational activities to become an official “Bugologist.”
“Bug Day” runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, 840 Old Furnace Road, Youngstown. Most activities are free.
A special BugMan Stage Show is scheduled at 10 a.m., preceding the main event. The exclusive presentation features The BugMan’s original up-close videos and live insect demonstrations. Designed to entertain and educate both children and adults, the intimate class setting ensures an interactive and personal experience. The cost is $15, and advance registration is required by today at www.millcreekmetroparks.org or by calling 330-740-7107, Ext. 129.
