Liberty man pleads in firearms case

WARREN — Antwan Hill-Jones, 41, of Hadley Avenue, Liberty, pleaded guilty Monday to improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation that included a one-year gun specification.

He also pleaded guilty to one count of having weapons while under disability. The plea was made Friday before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean J. O’Brien, and it offset a possible jury trial that was to begin Monday.

Hill-Jones was charged for his actions in a Feb. 5 incident investigated by Liberty police. O’Brien sentenced Hill-Jones to an aggregate prison sentence of three to four years and the defendant agreed to forfeit $410 in cash, a .357-caliber Rossi revolver and any ammunition. He was also credited for already serving 79 days in jail, court records show.

Starting at $3.23/week.
