Packard Museum closes through December

WARREN — The National Packard Museum will close for the rest of the year after Sunday due to the Ohio Department of Health’s latest travel advisory.

The museum located at 1899 Mahoning Ave. NW, previously closed in mid-March and reopened early in June in accordance with Ohio’s Responsible Restart Ohio plan. Since reopening, the museum has strictly complied with all safety guidelines. These include personal spacing, daily symptom assessments for employees, frequent cleaning of high-touch items and surfaces, directional signage and limiting overall capacity.

In a statement issued Friday, Executive Director Mary Ann Porinchak said with the rise in cases and the safety advisories from state and federal agencies, it became apparent that closing again was the responsible decision to make.

The museum’s online gift shop will remain open at www.packardmuseum.org for holiday shopping. Staff will be present to fill and ship all Packard Museum Store orders, and curbside pick-up will be available.

Planning will continue for the 21st Annual Vintage Motorcycle Exhibit, which traditionally opens in January. Next year’s theme is “Motorcycles — Roll Your Own” and will feature motorcycles hand built by owners or collectors, including basket-case restorations, modified machines and bikes built simply for the joy of riding.
