YOUNGSTOWN — Tony Scandy of South Side Boxing Club barely broke a sweat on Saturday night, needing just 39 seconds of the first round to dispose of Pittsburgh’s Ed Boehler in the main event of local trainer Jack Loew’s SSBC annual ‘Season’s Beatings’ amateur fight card at Penguin City Brewery.

Scandy remains a crowd favorite in Loew’s master’s super heavyweight division, while in the co-main event, Keith Burnside of Burnside A.C. treated the packed house to a unanimous decision over Youngstown’s Isaac Johnson in a 140-pound attraction.

The 11-bout affair also featured three other wins by Loew-trained hopefuls, with Isaiah Christian scoring a unanimous decision over John Davis, also of Youngstown, in a 135-pound scrap, Omari Gardner going toe-to-toe to defeat Erie’s Emilio Estevez by unanimous decision at 95 pounds and Levi Williams stopping Erie’s Andy Lee by unanimous decision at 195 pounds.

Javiar Adams of Massachusetts scored a split decision over Dontrail Burkes of SSBC at 102 pounds, while a 70-pound pairing featured Erie’s Ace Aiken posting a unanimous decision over SSBC’s Kingsley Wade.

In other action, Akron’s Clint Henderson was a winner over Angel Roja of Massachusetts in a 135-pound matchup when the referee stopped the contest at 1:30 in the third round. Youngstown’s Julio Azpuria topped James Coleman of Erie in a 145-pound pairing, while Mohammad Nabi of Lorain scored a unanimous decision over Jaquan Torrez of Ashtabula at 135 pounds.

The other 135-pound fight featured a unanimous decision by Youngstown’s Kavon Cotton over SSBC’s Colin Enright.
