YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State once again will visit Penn State in nonconference play.

A game contract obtained by the Tribune Chronicle shows that the Penguins will visit State College on either Nov. 14 or Nov. 15. YSU will be paid $15,000 for the game.

The teams met a year ago at PSU, a game which the Nittany Lions won 78-58. YSU led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter before trailing 36-23 at halftime. It marked the Penguins’ lone nonconference loss in the 2021-22 campaign.

Two other game contracts were received as part of the public records request. YSU will host Saint Francis College Brooklyn on Nov. 26 and St. Francis (PA) on Dec. 16.

The contract with St. Francis (PA) is a home-and-home agreement in which the Penguins will visit Loretto in the 2023-24 nonconference slate.

St. Francis Brooklyn went 17-10 a season ago, and knocked off Michigan State, 66-63. The 2022 matchup will mark the first between the two programs, according to the YSU women’s basketball record book. Youngstown State will pay St. Francis Brooklyn $4,000 for the visit.

The Penguins are 4-3 all-time against SFU (PA) and have won the last two matchups. The most recent contest was a 2019 matchup in Loretto that YSU won 56-46.
