DEAR EDITOR: Have you ever seen two dogs standing nose to nose, hair bristling on their backs, tails wagging in those short, stiff wags? Then someone pokes the larger of the dogs with a stick, and the larger dog attacks, not the person who poked it, but the smaller dog. Violence against innocents must stop

DEAR EDITOR: How much more are we supposed to endure before things get better? How many more bodies do we have to see on the street before we stand up and take action? Former Mayor Mike Bloomberg of New York had a good plan, stop-and-frisk. This idea was not very popular with the minority population of New York, but it got a lot of illegal guns off the street. DEAR EDITOR: As an occupational safety and health consultant, I am often requested to give talks to organizations, new employees and others on workplace safety. We’re all going bankrupt with Trump

DEAR EDITOR: At the current pace of S+P 500 losses of -6.7% (MINUS 6.7%) in a mere 50 days, President Donald Trump is on pace to make the average American’s retirement fund worthless in only two years. Call it Trump’s seventh bankruptcy, but this time we’re all along for the crash. The S+P 500 is now down 6.7% since Trump took office. So a fund tied to the S+P 500 that was worth $100,000 on Jan. 20 is now worth $93,300. It’s cost $6,700 (so far) to “own the libs”. Are we “winning” yet? BILL ADAMS Austintown

Donald Trump offers few positives

DEAR EDITOR: I can’t stop thinking about politics, and truly there is a lot to think about. I can’t recall, and believe me I’ve tried, to think about how much, if any, positivity Donald Trump has generated, not just in the first month of his second term but even in his first. I can think of very little in the way of positive and pleasing actions he has taken. And not only that, the same goes for our legislators, principally the Republicans, as they unreservedly back DT.
