Site Selection magazine ranked Ohio No. 1 for the past two years in the Groundwork Index thanks to record success in economic development. Manufacturing, long the backbone of Youngstown, is also evolving and embracing the latest technological innovations. Libraries provide so much for communities

DEAR EDITOR: In our recent world of chaos, I am compelled to write this plea to save the life of our libraries across the state of Ohio. It has come to my attention that the Ohio House Legislature intends to reduce major funding to the valued, rich and intellectual growth of our communities — our libraries. By cutting these funds, this budget will threaten the library’s great services such as access to technology centers, tax help, tutorials, hubs for economic progress, job search opportunities, educational programs for children, teens and adults, and especially senior citizens. ...

DEAR EDITOR: Attending the Youngstown Town Hall Meeting last evening was absolutely awesome! It’s a shame that Michael Rulli was unable to attend our “pathetic spectacle” as he so eloquently put it. DEAR EDITOR: The role of being a full-time senator or congressman began around 1970 [1]. Since COVID, many businesses have transitioned to remote operations and politicians have adopted proxy voting [2]. So, why must our politicians remain in Washington, D.C.? There’s a solution to our divided and misguided government: Build a grand hotel with accommodations for all of Congress during the few weeks they need to be in D.C.
