When will Trump get around to you?

DEAR EDITOR: What makes Donald Trump so bold? He declares a tax is not a tax (tariffs), a violation of one person’s First Amendment rights is not a violation (of all our rights; it is), he “couldn’t care less” about businesses (yours) failing thanks to his tariffs. He’s bold because he’s using your money (taxes) for his misogynistic, racist, anti-science and plainly ignorant personal vengeance. DEAR EDITOR: When they closed Sheet & Tube, Delphi Packard, Lordstown, Copperweld, the CEOs of these companies are the ones to protest against. Look for a label that says, “Made in the USA.” We grow cotton and export it to China, Vietnam, Turkey, Pakistan and Mexico, what tariffs were they paying? Five percent. DEAR EDITOR: We oppose the mandate from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, which compels school superintendents to certify compliance with the federal mandate that they are following federal civil rights laws and ending any discriminating diversity, equity and inclusion practices. We believe the mandate is an intimidation tactic by threatening to withhold funding (Title I and Title II) from the school districts if they don’t comply. DEAR EDITOR: Kilmar Abrego Garcia still sits in El Salvador‘s most notorious prison. The other day, on April 14, President Trump, the most powerful man in the world, and El Salvador‘s president Bukele, agreed that nothing could be done to free Garcia. How about this? Since Trump is such a tough guy, he should threaten to invade El Salvador or make it the 51st state. Give them 24 hours to release an American citizen. DEAR EDITOR: I would like to thank you for your article in the weekend paper. It was about people being offended by every little thing, but it doesn’t make them right just because they’re offended. Why can’t people just accept that others don’t always have the same point of view as they do? This hatred of others who don’t agree with you is so foolish and childish.
