Tractor-trailer fire closes I-80 in Hubbard
HUBBARD TOWNSHIP — A semi-trailer full of cheese crackers caught fire about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lane of Interstate 80 near the Hubbard exit.
Both lanes eastbound were closed for a little over an hour while crews from the Eagle Joint Fire District fought the blaze. One lane was reopened shortly before 5 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the semi was able to unhook his cab from the trailer, which was destroyed, reports state.
