Ohio virus cases rise by 2,607

Ohio Gov. Mike De-Wine today is expected to update the Ohio Public Health Advisory System to determine the level of spread of COVID-19 in the state’s 88 counties.

Mahoning County has been at the red level for a few weeks and is considered a high incidence county, while Trumbull and Columbiana counties are at the orange level.

The state added 2,607 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, raising the total to 205,347 since the pandemic began. All but 36,619 of cases are presumed recovered. There have been 5,256 deaths, up 17 since Tuesday.

Cases increased by 21 in Mahoning County on Wednesday, where 3,910 cases have been reported since the pandemic began. With 3,111 presumed recovered and 287 deaths, an estimated 512 active cases remain active in the county.

Cases increased by 10 in Trumbull County. Of the 2,414 cases in the county since the pandemic began, there have been 134 deaths and 1,954 cases presumed recovered, leaving 326 active cases in the county.

In Columbiana County, cases increased by 14 Wednesday to 2,204. With 88 deaths and 1,938 presumed recovered, there are 178 active cases in the county.
