Ivanka firms up Saturday visit to Valley

Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter and a White House adviser, will have a campaign event in the Mahoning Valley for her father Saturday, just three days before the election.

The President Donald Trump campaign made official Thursday what was recently reported about Ivanka coming to the area.

A Thursday announcement from the Trump campaign called it a “Make America Great Again! Event — Youngstown, Ohio.”

The campaign didn’t disclose a location in the area for the event as of Thursday. But sources say it will likely be in Niles and an email from the Trumbull County Republican Party states the event will be in Niles.

Also, the link to get tickets mentions Niles.

That link is: https://events.donaldjtrump.com/events/october-31-niles-ohio-maga-event-with-ivanka-trump.

People are allowed to register up to two tickets per cellphone number.

The event starts at noon Saturday with people allowed to enter starting at 10:30 a.m. U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, also will speak at the event, according to an email from the Trump campaign.

Just like it does for its other campaign events, the online signup for the Ivanka visit has this disclaimer: “By registering for this event, you understand and expressly acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. In attending the event, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and waive, release, and discharge Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.; the host venue; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers from any and all liability under any theory, whether in negligence or otherwise, for any illness or injury.”

The event was officially announced the same day Ohio shattered its record for newly reported COVID-19 cases in a single day with 3,590.

In a prepared statement, similar to others she and her siblings have said before their visits elsewhere, Ivanka said: “I’m excited to be back in the Buckeye State to discuss how President Trump has delivered for hardworking Ohioans. My father has renegotiated unfair trade deals, advocated for school choice, fought against the scourge of human trafficking, increased access to affordable child care and cut taxes for hardworking families.”

She added:”The people of Ohio have a fighter in President Trump, and he will continue to fight for them for four more years.”

Polls show a close race in Ohio between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden.

Ivanka was last in Ohio at an Oct. 16 event in Cincinnati. That event was outdoor and by invitation only.

She campaigned Wednesday for her father near Portersville, Pa., outdoors at a farm having a discussion with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a former White House press secretary.

This will be the second campaign stop this week in the Valley by one of Trump’s children.

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s oldest son, had a Monday rally indoors at The Maronite Center in Youngstown in support of his father. About 400 people attended that event without social distancing.
