Valley reports no new deaths from virus

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in the Mahoning Valley on Wednesday, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

Trumbull County remained at 126 total deaths, while Mahoning County had 272 and Columbiana, 69.

While the death toll didn’t increase, the number of cases of the novel coronavirus continues to climb.

Seeing the largest jump in 24 hours of the three counties was Mahoning, with an increase of nine, bringing Wednesday’s total to 2,915.

Trumbull County had a reported 1,785 virus cases, an increase of five from the day before.

The ODH reported that Columbiana County had 1,878 cases Wednesday, which is an increase of two from Tuesday.

Across the state, 26 deaths were reported Wednesday, bringing the total to 4,324.

A total of 132,965 cases of the virus were recorded, an increase of 973 from the day prior.

For hospitalizations in Mahoning County, an increase of two was reported for a new total of 461 Wednesday.

Trumbull and Columbiana counties each did not have new hospitalizations, reporting 331 and 214, respectively.

Statewide, 14,083 people have been hospitalized since the start of the pandemic.

A presumed 111,201 people have recovered from COVID-19.
