Foxconn, based in Taiwan, acquired the plant for $230 million in May.

Lordstown Motors also announced it remains on pace to launch production of its flagship vehicle, the Endurance, which Foxconn will assemble, but most of the predicted 500 units will be produced in early 2023, according to Edward Hightower, Lordstown Motors president / CEO.

Last year, the company said it planned to make 500 trucks by the end of 2022 and 2,500 more in 2023.
