Youngstown summer camp registration opens

YOUNGSTOWN — The city’s Kids Summer Camp, a free program for children between the ages of 5 and 13, is open for registration.

Applications can be picked up at the park and recreation office at city hall, 26 S. Phelps St., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, and at the Richard W. and Eugenia C. Atkinson Recreational Center, 903 Otis St., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The camp at Wick Park, 260 Park Ave., runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays between June 9 and Aug. 8.

The camp offers swimming at the Northside Pool, as well as sports, arts and crafts, and other activities at no cost to city residents.

Also, the city is seeking to hire camp staff for the program. Those at least 16 years old are asked to contact Micaela Brown, the city’s recreational programs supervisor, at mbrown@youngstownohio.gov or call the park office at 330-742-8711.
