YOUNGSTOWN — Two women appeared to suffer injuries during an early morning accident on Oak Hill Avenue near West Warren Avenue on the South Side on Monday.

Around 8:30 a.m., a reporter from The Vindicator saw two women in a side parking lot south of The Brilliance School, 1817 Oak Hill Ave. One of them was lying face down in the parking lot, and the other was sitting up talking to a Youngstown police officer. She had suffered an injury to her mouth.

A Youngstown police officer was attending to the two women, including the woman who had been lying face down but a short time later was sitting up and talking on a phone.

A Youngstown police cruiser was off the right edge of Oak Hill Avenue close to the Oak Hill/West Warren Avenue intersection, with front driver’s side damage to the cruiser.

Two men and a woman were in the area, as well as a pickup truck possibly belonging to one or more of the people. A Youngstown police supervisor arrived at the scene and then an ambulance, whose occupants attended to the two women.

Youngstown police would not comment Monday on what happened in the incident. City spokesman Andy Resnick stated in a 12:45 p.m. email, “As of right now we are still investigating the cause of the accident.”
