TROLLEY RIDE FOR CHILDREN: The Salem Historical Society is offering a Christmas early evening “Trolley Light Ride for Children” on Thursday with Mrs. Claus and possibly one of Santa’s elves. Mrs. Claus will tell Christmas stories while the pages slowly flash across the screens.

Bells will ring and children will sing on the Quakertown Trolley. Children must be attended by an adult.

The Candlelight Christmas tour will be available at the 208 South Broadway / East Pershing corner. Boarding the trolley and paying for the tour can be done at this location.

For the trolley and candle tour, the cost is $3 for children and $6 for accompanying adults. The Trolley Tour will begin and load at 6 p.m. The candlelight tour will be available 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Reservations are made by calling 330-337-6733 and leaving a message.

CAREER CENTER HELPS: The medical assistant students at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center in Canfield organized a gift card drive to benefit Beatitude House.

Each year, MCCTC Adult Career Center Medical Assistant students choose a community service project to benefit a local charity. This year, students chose Beatitude House in Youngstown to be the recipient of gift cards to be used as Christmas gifts for women and children staying at their facility.

Medical assistant students presented Jessica Driscoll from Beatitude House with Walmart gift cards that were collected from medical assistant and medical office specialist students and Adult Career Center students.

TROLLEY CHRISTMAS LIGHT TOUR: In celebration of the Christmas season, the Salem Historical Society is offering a “special” Christmas early evening “Trolley Light Ride for children” on Thursday with Mrs. Claus and possibly one of Santa’s elves. Mrs. Claus will be telling Christmas stories while the pages slowly flash across the screens. Bells will be ringing and the children will be singing as they ride the Quakertown Trolley this year. Children must be attended by an adult. Tickets for the candlelight Christmas tour will be available at the 208 South Broadway / East Pershing corner. CLASS TO MEET: The South High School Class of 1956 women’s monthly luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at Bob Evans Restaurant in Canfield. All class members, guests and husbands are welcome.

HOLIDAY MUSIC: The Boardman High School Symphony Chamber and Classic Orchestra will present the annual winter holiday festival 7 p.m. Wednesday at Boardman Performing Arts Center. Admission is a $3 donation with senior citizens admitted free. At the close of the program, there will be discounted ticket presales for Project Mayhem concerts in March, Tickets are $10, but will be discounted at $5.
