BOOK SALE: Lepper Library, 303 East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, is holding a book sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

There will be a wide selection of adult, teen and childrens’ books, audios and movies. Prices are 50 cents for hardbacks, 25 cents for paperbacks, $1 for audios and DVDs, 25 cents for all childrens’ books. Magazines are free with any purchase.

WOMEN IN HISTORY: The Salem Federation of Women’s Club will host a tea 11 a.m. Saturday at the Smucker House, 271 S. Broadway, Salem, featuring Eddie Murphy of Wellsville, who will portray Harriet Tubman.

The tea is open to the public. Reservations are required by emailing smuckerhousesalem@gmail.com. Tickets cost $25.

SHOPPING BY THE RIVER: The Lowellville Enrichment Group will have its Spring Shopping by the River Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Water Street. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday.

There will be more than 30 vendors. Free admission and parking.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support community projects and events throughout the year.

There are still spaces available for artisans and crafters interested in participating as vendors. Call Karla Baird at 330-717-3128 for more information.

LIBRARY CRAFT: A Star Wars Perler Bead craft will be the project 11 a.m. Saturday at Lepper Library. Recommended for ages 8 and up due to complex designs. The program is limited to 14 participants. Signup is required.

PIONEER VILLAGE DERBY DAY: Derby Day at Beaver Creek State Park is Saturday.

Activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the barn in Pioneer Village. Children 11 and under can make a stick horse, a horse cookie and ride their horse through an obstacle course. People 12 through adult can decorate derby hats. The hats and horses will be judged by the public at noon. Also in the barn will be special derby snacks.

Stick horse races for children 11 and under are 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m., a horse ball toy races for youth 12 to 16 years are 1:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. and inflatable horse races for anyone over 16 are 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

Refreshments, souvenirs, shirts and more are available at the trading post.
