Steven Page headlines Southeast Music Gala Fundraiser
Steven Page and Street Corner Symphony will be the special guests for the Southeast Music Gala Fundraiser at Packard Music Hall on March 22.
Page is a former founding member of the band Barenaked Ladies. He sang lead or co-lead vocals and wrote or cowrote many of the group’s best-known songs, including, “Brian Wilson,” “If I Had a Million Dollars,” “It’s All Been Done,” “The Old Apartment” and “Call and Answer.”
He’s released six solo albums and also has toured with the Trans-Canada Highwaymen, which also features members of the bands Sloan and The Pursuit of Happiness.
Street Corner Symphony was the runner-up on the second season of the a cappella reality competition series “The Sing-Off.” The group has worked with such artists as Ben Folds, Alison Krauss and Claude McKnight of Take 6, and its latest album is “Jukebox.”
Also performing will be The Panyard Steel Orchestra and bands and choirs from Southeast Schools.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. show range from $53 to $100 and are on sale now through Ticketmaster. All proceeds will benefit the instrument replacement fund at Southeast.
