TNT stages one-act plays
Trumbull New Theatre will present two one-act plays led by first-time directors for a three-performance run next weekend.
Steven Fraley will direct “Bad Auditions by Bad Actors” by Ian McWethy.
A casting director has one day to find the leads for a community theatre production of “Romeo and Juliet.”
What seems like a simple task proves impossible when the pool of actors includes extreme method actors, performers who just don’t know what to do with their hands and one particular woman who may or may not think she’s a cat.
Alex Williams will lead the one-act entitled “Sorry, Wrong Number” by Lucille Fletcher.
It’s the story of a neurotic woman who, while on the phone, accidentally overhears a conversation about a planned murder.
As the plot unfolds, the audience is left in constant uncertainty: is the murder she’s heard about really happening, or is it a setup for her?
The cast for the two productions features Nina Miller, Tristen Salyard, Casey Murphy, Mikayla Bloom, Jason Klingensmith, Jacqui Petrick, Sierra Sigler, Emily Goldner, Molly Cravalho, Amy Giovannone, Scott Jones, Alex Hubaker and Dominick Spisak with many of the actors appearing in both productions.
They will be staged at 7:30 p.m. July 10 and 11 and 3 p.m. July 12 at TNT, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Tickets are $15 and seating will be general admission.
Reservations are not required but can be made online at www.trumbullnewtheatre.com.
