YourArts will partner with Hart’s School of Performing Arts for its annual Youth Summer Camp.

The camp will run from July 29 to Aug. 2 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. It is designed to increase children’s access to, knowledge of and appreciation for the performing arts.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, students will work with teachers from Hart’s as well as Shiloh Hart, owner and executive director of the school. Students will write skits, learn songs and make props and costumes in preparation for their performance on the final day.

The Hart’s School, based at Kent State University at Trumbull in Champion, was created, “To educate youth to explore their interests and passions in a world that tells them to be ordinary,” according to its director.

YourArts is a collaborative effort of Opera Western Reserve, the Stambaugh Auditorium Association, The Youngstown Symphony Society, and The Youngstown Playhouse that was created in an effort to share services, staff and resources among the arts organizations.

The camp is suitable for children ages 6 to 12. The cost is $82 per child. Registration is open through July 15 and can be done online at experienceyourarts.org.
