Mr. and Mrs. John Spagnola of Poland celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a small gathering of family.

Mr. Spagnola and the former Phyllis Lewis exchanged marriage vows Oct. 22, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Spagnola is a homemaker.

Mr. Spagnola served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hornet. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Co., where he was an associate manager.

The couple are parents of Cynthia (Mark) Long, Patricia Craft and Diane Spagnola, all of Poland and Joanne (Ron) Fisher of New Springfield. The family circle includes seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
