Moore rolls with Penguins

Kirsten Moore has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and bowling careers at Youngstown State University, Penguins coach Doug Kuberski announced on Wednesday.

Moore is a native of Tallmadge and has qualified for the state tournament twice in her three years at Tallmadge High School.

Moore was the runner-up at the 2018 state tournament at the Division I level when she posted a 681 series. She bowled games of 258, 245 and 178 at the tournament to help Tallmadge place 11th as a team.

Moore placed 16th individually at the state tournament as a junior to become the first two-time state qualifier in Tallmadge history. She placed fifth at the district tournament and was the sectional champion, and she was honored as the Suburban League Bowler of the Year. Moore was also named to the Best of Greater Akron All-Star Team in 2019.

Outside of the high school circuit, Moore has won multiple JTBA and Future Star titles, and she placed 31st at the 2018 Junior Gold Championships in the U15 Division.
