DEAR EDITOR: Trump attacks Iran, you pay. A $100,000 retirement fund invested to mirror the S&P 500 has lost $5,000 since Trump’s attack. If you had $200,000 invested you’ve lost $10,000 ... in 3 weeks. But wait, there’s more. The Pentagon wants a fresh $200 BILLION to keep fighting Trump’s war. That’s money you’ll be paying. Hold on, we’re not finished. Gas is up 30+%. So if you drive 1,000 miles a month and buy 30 gallons of gas, that’s about $30 more a month or $360 a year — more if you drive more or get under 33 miles a gallon. BILL ADAMS Austintown

DEAR EDITOR: Star Parker doesn’t get it. She thinks everything is political. It is not that Democrats don’t love the United States, we just don’t recognize it any more. Can you imagine Eisenhower or Kennedy hawking gold shoes or Bibles for sale on TV or selling them in the White House? None of the other presidents destroyed part of “the People’s House” to make it look like a gaudy casino. Don’t let him destroy the Kennedy Center! Advocates of tougher penalties for companion animal owners who willingly and negligently allow their pets to viciously attack others have had reason to cheer this month. As of March 20, Avery’s Law became the law of the land in the Buckeye State after sailing through both chambers of the state Legislature with rapid-fire speed. It did so with good reason as its primary provisions drew bipartisan support and unanimous votes in both the state House and Senate.
