DEAR EDITOR: President Trump is singlehandedly destroying the U.S. economy. The stock market has lost $11 trillion and stands to lose a lot more, since Trump’s inauguration three months ago. The savings and retirement plans of millions of Americans have been lost. Why? Because of a crazy economic policy created by Peter Navarro that states that tariffs are the solution for our economic woes. Crazier still is Navarro’s source is Ron Vera, an invented person! Light near Poland post office seems off

DEAR EDITOR: The light on Route 224 was presented as being traffic-actuated to allow cars leaving the Poland Post Office safe exit back onto the road. However, this light does not seem to be programmed correctly as the light goes to red for 224 traffic when there are no cars coming out of the post office or the opposing street. At any time of day, this results in 12-15 cars sitting at this light, wasting time and gas, and no cross traffic in or out of the post office. I’ve contacted the Ohio Department of Transportation, which informed me that this light is controlled locally. ...

Libraries provide so much for communities

DEAR EDITOR: In our recent world of chaos, I am compelled to write this plea to save the life of our libraries across the state of Ohio. It has come to my attention that the Ohio House Legislature intends to reduce major funding to the valued, rich and intellectual growth of our communities — our libraries. By cutting these funds, this budget will threaten the library’s great services such as access to technology centers, tax help, tutorials, hubs for economic progress, job search opportunities, educational programs for children, teens and adults, and especially senior citizens. ...
