DEAR EDITOR: The recent protest on Saturday, April 19 brings to light many serious issues, while not knowing, or being in denial, of factual evidence most likely attributable to heads in the sand. Where were these and other individuals when Steward Health was operating locally from 2017-24, in continuation of its 14-year Ponzi scheme? What about its predecessor Community Health Systems, a publicly traded enterprise which also exhibited serious red flags of fraud? Some deportations have been unjust

DEAR EDITOR: No one wants violent criminals at large in our communities. But allowing numerous deportations to a brutal prison across the globe without a legal trial is not only unlawful, but inhumane. Some of those swept up in those raids were innocent of any crime and some had a traffic violation. During WWII, nearly 70,000 of the estimated 122,000 people of Japanese heritage who were incarcerated in isolated desert camps were actually innocent U.S. citizens. My father, five uncles, a cousin and my late fiance, all served in the military and fought in wars to preserve our freedoms. How the Boys & Girls Club shaped my life

DEAR EDITOR: At just 6 years old, I walked through the doors of the Boys & Girls Club not knowing that it would become one of the most influential parts of my life. What began as a safe place to go after school quickly transformed into the foundation of who I would become. The club gave me more than a place to spend time.
