Organization honors nurses in region

DEAR EDITOR: Recently the Nurse Honor Guard of Eastern Ohio participated in funeral services I attended for a nurse here in our community. As a nurse myself, I was so moved by their presentation, it was truly wonderful! As nurses, we are not always appreciated and treated poorly at times despite our hard work and dedication. Your presence showed everyone how sacred a duty this person performed during her time here with us. Thank you for honoring our noble profession! LISA WHITE Lake Milton

DEAR EDITOR: History tells us that anyone who does good for “We the People” will be assassinated. First, we had Jesus of Nazareth. How about using stop-and-frisk to curb violence?

DEAR EDITOR: Well boys and girls, a few more shootings and a stabbing or two. Have you had enough yet? Stop-and-frisk doesn’t seem all that bad when you consider it might have saved the lives of a few more people. This movement will not sit well with a lot of people, but it is time that the city administration took a new approach to curbing gun violence in Youngstown. The people must do their parts in stepping up and assisting law enforcement to reduce this problem. Far too many lives are cut short by senseless acts of violence. JAMES EIDEL Beaver Township

DEAR EDITOR: Republicans in the House of Representatives were afraid to stay in Washington where they might be forced to confront the fact that their favorite authoritarian dictator is a sexual predator; so they chose to adjourn early and take an extended vacation. You might expect Rep. Mike Rulli, who pretends to be a pillar of the community, to use some of that extra free time to meet with constituents and talk with them about their concerns.
