DEAR EDITOR: 47 is not a scholar. He has no knowledge of science, medicine, or infectious disease. This was apparent by his words and misconduct during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankful for care at St. E’s, AHC

DEAR EDITOR: I would like to recognize all the nurses, doctors and service workers at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and at Austintown Healthcare Center. A little over a year ago, I injured my leg in Cleveland while slipping on ice. I was asked which hospital I wanted to go to, University Hospital or the Cleveland Clinic. My response was I would wait until I could get back to St. Elizabeth’s. I spent more than two months there with a wound vac on my leg, and more rehab at Austintown Healthcare Center on Meridian Road. DEAR EDITOR: In these very tumultuous times for our country when every day brings a bombardment of news, it can be difficult to follow the moving parts. There is one part we dare not lose sight of, and that is the part about the freedom to have quality health care. Our government was recently shut down over this very issue. The deer-kill numbers aren’t adding up

DEAR EDITOR: I was at a Metroparks meeting Oct. 10th and received some interesting information that I would like to share. It was reported in The Vindicator last week that 67 deer had been slaughtered. The ODNR previously stated to the park director, Aaron Young, 50 deer was the limit to slaughter. I talked to the president of the board, Miss Bennett, and was told to speak with Mr. Young, who was too busy to talk to me. I then talked to the Chief of Metro Park Police. McDowell has demonstrated wisdom in your choosing to consider keeping Community Planning and Economic Development Director Nikki Fields, Law Director Lori Shells Simmons, Finance Director Kyle Miasek, Police Chief Carl Davis and Fire Chief Barry Finley in their current positions.
