Hello, Washington … is anyone there?

DEAR EDITOR: Do our leaders remember us, “We the People”? Or are they too busy fighting and acting like children? Except for the ones honored and remembered, the State of the Union was a clown show, and our president was the chief clown. Whatever happened to civil discourse and respect? Will class and dignity ever return to the White House? All the time and energy being used for arguing and fighting can be put to better use in governing. Maybe then we could improve health care, reduce inflation, bring down the cost of prescription drugs, improve our infrastructure and so ...

Elections plagued by economic problems

DEAR EDITOR: Election interference by establishment elites is rampant in both political parties. To think that our local elections are immune is delusional. The May Primary races within Mahoning and Columbiana counties such as the 7th District Court of Appeals, the Ohio Secretary of State race and others have seen measurable questionably nefarious actions taken. Publicly conveyed, a State Central Committee member who is up for election in May apparently contacted candidate for Secretary of State, Marcell Strbich, allegedly offering a political job interview if he withdrew from the ...

Sound off! March 7-8

To the writer from Poland who wrote about the economic gain from the income tax refund I have a question. What has President Trump did that is against the Constitution? And what democratic norms are you talking about ? The things Joe Biden did like tapping people’s phone? I wrote the letter to highlight the Democrats hypocrisy. If you think President Trump does everything wrong, then the extra refund should be wrong in your eyes. Again, you’re a hypocrite if you keep the extra refund! — Hubbard In today’s Vindicator I read where our illustrious congressman Rulli wants to ...

Bringing a voice to those suffering from MS

DEAR EDITOR: In 2006, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). When diagnosed, I did not know what MS was. Others, along with myself, experience the various challenges of MS, and no two people experience the same effects. No one has chosen to live with MS; it has chosen us. There are things known and things unknown regarding MS. Every hour, someone is diagnosed with MS, a chronic disease of the central nervous system for which there is no cure. MS interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body. A few of the impacts of someone with MS could be one or more of ...

We can only wait to see what Trump does next

DEAR EDITOR: So the illustrious president lost a case in the Supreme Court regarding the tariffs imposed. Even the Supreme Court justices he appointed to the court said no. I see where he never heard of the word “no.” He has vowed to fight the court until the day he leaves office. This is in addition to the court cases he seems to file every day. He wants to put his name and face on all of America. He wants to bankrupt America at the expense of Joe Public. He never has enough money to satisfy himself. Immediately he said he would impose a 10% global tariff on everything ...

American prodigy: Here comes that rainbow again

DEAR EDITOR: What were the chances that we would be given this gift? By sheer luck we have beaten all odds. Yes, President Donald Trump will certainly be ingrained in the history of America and of the world. He has shown us talents we never could have imagined and most likely will never understand. He may be recognized as a master of American Social Realism and a practitioner of naturalism, which highlighted the struggles of every man. Protagonists against the forces of hate and injustice. Comparable to what John Steinbeck would write in “The Grapes of Wrath,” this president ...
