Congrats on a merited retirement

DEAR EDITOR:

I want to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt Congratulations to Darlene St. George on her well-deserved retirement as the Administrator of Howland Township. Her dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving the community has left a lasting impact on all of us. When I mention all of us, I am referring to the impact she made on Howland Township during her years as Township trustee (then off to Liberty, as she served as Township administrator, then back to her home township of Howland, as she served as Township administrator.)

Throughout her tenure, whatever the position that she held, she exemplified true leadership and professionalism in everything that she did. Her vision and strategic approach helped to shape Howland into the thriving community it is today. Her unwavering passion for public service has inspired many, myself included, and her legacy will continue to influence us in years to come.

With her service of the Trumbull County Planning Commission, she again has assisted in mapping our County’s future growth which, in turn, will result in prosperity for decades to come. She has been an extraordinary asset to the Warren community by her consistent cooperative presence in jobs retention, whether it be in the Golden Triangle, or future development in the former R.G. Steel property.

A common question among elected officials or developers in the county was “Have you talked to Darlene about this concept?” That is who Darlene St. George was, whenever it was a simple project, as a ball field in a Township, or a massive development project in Trumbull County — Darlene St. George was at the table.

As she embarks on this new chapter in her life, I have no doubt she will embrace it with the same enthusiasm and grace she has shown in her work. Her retirement marks an end to an era, but also the beginning of a well-deserved period of relaxation and enjoyment.

Always remember, before you plan — Review it by Darlene.
