Stella M. Shuluga 1933-2026

CAMPBELL — Stella M. Shuluga, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Windsor House in Canfield.

Stella was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Lowellville, a daughter of Ralph and Laura Altiero Rotz.

She was a 1952 graduate of Lowellville High School and was a lifelong resident of the Campbell area.

Stella married the love of her life, Joseph G. Shuluga, on April 23, 1955, and they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, until his passing on Nov. 28, 2013.

Stella was of the Catholic faith and was a parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell. She was also a member of the Church Cultural Society.

Stella was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards with her friends, along with playing the slots at the casino.

Stella developed her cooking and baking skills and love for cooking while helping her mother with catering. She is known for her delicious wedding soup and pizzelles and has passed on her cooking skills and knowledge to her children, who have continued her legacy with their own children.

Stella will be deeply missed and always remembered by her children, Joseph (Leida) Shuluga of Campbell, Bernadette (Donald) Ritenour of Campbell, Gregory Mark Shuluga of Poland and Ellie Heckert of Boardman; grandchildren, Katie (Dave) Olson, Dr. Joseph (Karley) Shuluga Jr., Nicholas (Ashley) Shuluga, Donald Ritenour Jr., Ashley (Jeremie) Rehak, Alyssa (Jamie) Hart, Amanda (David) Shuluga-Strogin and Brianna (Clint) Bernu; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Judy) Rotz; sister, Charlene Donatelli; brother-in-law, Peter Capan; and sister-in-law, Dodie Shuluga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Carmen Rotz; and sister, Mary Jane Capan.

The Shuluga family has entrusted Stella’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, where calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell.

Stella will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.

The family would like to thank Windsor House of Canfield and Harmony Hospice for the outstanding care given to their mom.
