Sherry Miller McGarvey 1944-2024

BERLIN CENTER — Sherry Miller McGarvey went to be with her lord and savior on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Sherry was born Nov. 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Francis C. and Mildred Kale Miller. She lived in the Berlin Center / Ellsworth area most of her life.

Sherry worked most of her adult life beginning at Farmers National Bank in Canfield, Johnson Physical Therapy in Austintown and ending her career at Winkle Industries in Canfield and Alliance.

In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, bowling and baking. She also enjoyed reading, TV, puzzles and crosswords. Sherry looked forward to playing cards and monthly lunches with her classmates.

Most of all, Sherry enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sherry was a lifelong active member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Berlin Center, serving on church council and treasurer for 20 years.

Sherry leaves two children she had with her first husband, Paul (Donna) Bowman of Canfield and Pamela (Lex) Murray of Salem; seven grandchildren, Stevie, Jacob, Jess, Katie, Lex, Zachary and Alexandria; and nine great-grandchildren. Sherry also leaves two brothers, Donald (Sandra) Miller of South Carolina and James (Lila) Miller of Berlin Center; two sisters, Arlene Miller of Austintown and Michelle (James) Benge of Mineral Ridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She married Charles McGarvey on Oct. 9, 1981. They were together until his death, Nov. 5, 2018.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Miller and Kenneth Miller; three sisters, Linda Roofner, Kathy Gongaware and Shirley Sickle; and her beloved niece, Denise.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, at Lane Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.
