Richard Crish 1931-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Richard Marino “Rich” Crish, 92, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2024, at Austintown Healthcare.

Rich was born Nov. 6, 1931, in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and Mary Presciano Crish.

He was a graduate of Chaney High School and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. Rich achieved the rank of sergeant and served in the 8th Armored Division – 9th Corps as a 155 Self Propelled Gun and Tank Operator. For his service, he was awarded an honorable discharge.

After returning home, Rich began work for General Motors in Lordstown. He retired as a millwright after 30 years.

Outside of work, Rich enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He was an avid NASCAR fan and served as an usher at the Daytona 500 for many years. Rich enjoyed taking trips to Florida with his family, and most of all, cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Rich will always be remembered by his wife of 65 years, Corrine Martin Crish of Boardman; children, William Crish of Georgia, Cheryl (Tom) Siegfried of Louisville, Richard J. (Debbie) Crish, Edward T. (Robin) Crish, David A. (Linda) Crish, Nancy J. Dickson and Julie (Bruno) Capogreco; grandchildren, Billy Crish, Joey (Heather) Crish, Lauren Siegfried, Beau Siegfried, Colleen J. (Dean) Chance, Paul R. Crish, Daniel C. (Dr. Kristen) Crish, Madeline A. Crish and Emma J. Capogreco; great-grandchildren, Mason, Beckett and Adalyn Crish, and Charlotte E. Crish; siblings; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Rich was preceded in death by many siblings.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute during memorial calling hours, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.

A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at noon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rich’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
