OHSAA unveils state baseball brackets

The OHSAA revealed its 2024 baseball postseason brackets Sunday.

Sectional tournaments run May 11 to 18, districts are May 20 to 25 and regionals are May 30 to 31. States are set for June 7 to 9.

In the Division IV, Northeast 1 District, No. 23 Leetonia and No. 24 Windham will face off May 14. Elsewhere in that bracket, Kinsman Badger is seeded 34th and faces No. 21 Willoughby Cornerstone Christian on May 14, while No. 28 Western Reserve and No. 25 Salineville Southern will battle that day, as well. Springfield earned the No. 4 seed in that bracket and awaits the winner of Badger and Cornerstone on May 16.

In Division IV, Northeast 2, No. 2 Warren JFK awaits the victor of No. 19 Chalker and No. 32 Wellsville, who will play May 14 before facing Kennedy on May 16. Maplewood earned the No. 11 seed and on May 16 will play the winner of No. 17 Lisbon and No. 27 Lowellville, who play May 14. Elsewhere, No. 9 Bristol awaits the winner of No. 20 Kidron Central Christian and No. 14 Jackson-Milton on May 16. No. 15 Mathews and No. 22 Grand Valley play May 14 with the winner taking on No. 14 Mineral Ridge two days later.

In Division IV, Northeast 3, No. 10 McDonald plays No. 8 Elyria Open Door Christian on May 16, while No. 31 Lordstown visits No. 18 East Canton on May 14. No. 16 Heartland Christian hosts No. 29 Fairport Harbor on May 14.

Division III features four Northeast divisions. In Northeast 1, No. 21 Campbell Memorial and No. 15 Champion battle on May 13, while No. 13 Newton Falls and No. 22 Conneaut also play that day.

No. 3 LaBrae earned a first-round bye and on May 15 will host the winner of No. 12 Lakeview and No. 20 East Palestine, who play two days before. No. 11 Crestview and No. 19 Waterloo will face off, with the winner taking on No. 6 Columbiana on May 15.

In Northeast 2, No. 4 South Range earned a bye and awaits the victor of No. 14 Middlefield Cardinal and No. 17 Pymatuning Valley. Cardinal Mooney, a 10 seed, will visit No. 9 Ravenna Southeast on May 13, with the winner taking on No. 8 Hanoverton United on May 15. No. 23 Brookfield takes on No. 18 Chagrin Falls, and No. 24 Liberty battles No. 16 Wickliffe on May 13. No. 5 Garfield hosts the winner of Liberty/Wickliffe on May 15.

In Division II, Northeast 1, Poland earned the top seed and has a first-round bye. The Bulldogs will take on the winner of No. 9 Ursuline and No. 24 Chaney, who play May 13. Elsewhere, No. 7 Hubbard awaits the winner of No. 12 Streetsboro and No. 13 Girard, while No. 4 Canfield awaits the winner of No. 22 Niles and No. 14 Howland.

In Northeast 2, No. 15 Salem hosts No. 16 Kent Roosevelt on May 13, while No. 23 Youngstown East visits No. 11 Geneva that day. West Branch is the 3 seed and on May 15 will play the winner of No. 18 Jefferson and No. 19 West Geauga. No. 21 Struthers visits No. 10 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on May 13.

Finally, in Division I, Northeast 1, No. 25 Warren G. Harding visits No. 17 Dover on May 14. In Northeast 2, No. 31 Boardman takes on No. 30 Cuyahoga Falls, while No. 9 Austintown Fitch has a first-round bye and on May 16 hosts the winner of No. 12 Canton GlenOak and No. 29 Solon.
