Joan B. Jandrokovic 1940-2024

CANFIELD — Joan B. Jandrokovic, 83, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 16, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

Joan was born July 27, 1940, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Ryan and Erma Cramer Hoffman, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Chaney High School in 1958 and worked in inside sales for 15 years for Pittsburgh-Canfield Corp. (Material Sciences Corp.), from where she later retired.

One of Joan’s deepest passions was breeding and showing Shetland sheepdogs alongside her best friend, Glenda. She always maintained a commitment to the integrity of the breed and finished several champions.

Joan loved being near the water. She spent her summers boating on Lake Erie and was a member of the Harbor Yacht Club in Ashtabula for 25 years. During that time, she made the dearest of friends and created many fond memories. Joan also looked forward to vacationing in Cape Coral, Florida, during the winters.

Most precious to Joan was spending time with family and friends. A true “westsider,” she looked forward to going to lunch every month with her high school friends.

She leaves her husband, Ronald G. Jandrokovic, whom she married Oct. 23, 1959; her daughter, Julie (Thomas E.) Cheslik of Canfield; a son, Ronald W. Jandrokovic of Streetsboro; three grandsons, Dr. Thomas G. (Christie) Cheslik, Timothy R. (Kayla) Cheslik and Ryan J. Cheslik; and two great-granddaughters, Mia and Cecelia Cheslik, with two more great-granddaughters on the way. Joan also leaves her brother, James Hoffman of Boardman; and a sister, Ruth Heineman of Berlin Center.

Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Drotleff.
