Carole J. Madeline 1942-2024

HUBBARD — Carole J. Madeline, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving daughters, Thursday April 25, 2024, at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.

Carole was born May 28, 1942, in Mercer, Pa., a daughter of Fredrick and Marian Henry Winklevoss. She was a 1960 graduate of Hubbard High School and a 1962 graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, where she worked prior to starting her family. She was a member of Girl Scouts for 25 years and a troop leader for 10 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cake decorating and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Carole was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.

Her husband, Robert A. Madeline, whom she married May 2, 1964, passed away Oct. 29, 2022.

She will lovingly be remembered and sadly missed by her family: her daughters, Diana M. (Keith) Nutter of Canton, Lori A. (Gary) Smith of Eastlake, Lisa R. (Steve) Sokol of Hubbard and Michele M. (John) Rausch of Mentor; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers, Randall L. Winklevoss and Myron Richard Winklevoss.

There will be calling hours 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Swierz officiating, with calling hours 10 to 10:45 a.m. Church.

Carole will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
