William H. Moore 1935-2024

William was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Youngstown, a son of Harry J. and Florence M. Deislinger Moore.

He was a 1954 graduate of Girard High School.

William was a funeral director’s assistant at McClurkin Funeral Home, where he worked for 42 years and later worked for Western Reserve Leasing for 10 years.

He was a member, trustee and elder of Guiding Light Presbyterian Church (formerly First Presbyterian Church of Girard) and laid the cornerstone of the church building in 1962. He was a former member of Girard Masonic Temple.

He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family, his wife, the former Jane L. Moore, whom he married Sept. 26, 1964; his sons, Timothy W. (Holly) Moore of Radford, Virginia, and Dr. Edward Alan Moore of Pittsburgh; and his grandson, Ethan A. Moore.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn Drevet and Barbara Hammerschmidt.

Services will begin at 11 a.m., with calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the services, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Guiding Light Presbyterian Church in Girard.

Calling hours also will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home, Hubbard.

William will be laid to rest in Girard City Cemetery.
