Pauline Anderson Berkowitz 1919-2021
LOS GATOS, Calif — Pauline was born Jan. 1, 1919, in London, England, and died Saturday, April 24, 2021, in Los Gatos, Calif., her intervening 102 years focused on family, friends and students, all animated and enriched by her wit (in English, French and Spanish), loyalty, dignity, curiosity and an always youthful frame of mind.
Predeceased by her husband, Sidney M. Berkowitz, Rabbi of Congregation Rodef Sholom for almost 40 years, she is survived by her brother, Godfrey Anderson (Bessie) of Youngstown; sister, Heather Lonsdale of Oxford, UK; sons, Roger (Rhoda) of Pittsboro, N.C. and Laurence (Maryann) of Los Gatos, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
