Robert J. Tracey Jr. 1958-2021

NOVELTY — Robert “Bob” J. Tracey Jr., 62, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, wrapped with the love of his family, Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.

Bob was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Youngstown, the eldest of three children born to Robert and Geraldine Tracey, who preceded him in death.

Bob grew up in Hubbard and was a 1977 graduate of Hubbard High School. He attended West Virginia University and Youngstown State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree.

Bob was employed at BFG Supply at the time of his death. He worked in the nursery and greenhouse industry for over 25 years and truly enjoyed his work.

Bob was an amazing father, cherished brother, devoted boyfriend and loyal friend. He loved to cook, spend time outdoors and in his garden planting vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed summers at Pine Lakes Campgrounds in Orwell, doing what he loved. Bob established life long friendships with many people there. He also enjoyed vacationing in Fort Myers, Fla.

Bob was an avid football fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter, Katie Tracey of Cleveland Heights; and his loving girlfriend, Cindy Brown, whom he resided with in Novelty. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Susan (Dave) Nespeca of Poland and Cheri (Bob) Russell of Brookville; nieces, Melissa Centofante of Dallas, Ga., Alison (Nick) Moyer of Englewood and Sara Russell of Brookville; his great-nephew and -niece, Owen and Ava Centofante; and his very close friends and neighbors, Daniel Reynolds and Stevi Baskins.

Bob had a nature you couldn’t help loving, a heart that was purer than gold and to those who knew him and loved him, his memory will never grow old. He will be missed every day.

Per Bob’s request there will be no calling hours. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held by family at a later date.

The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff of the ICU at UH Geauga for the outstanding care provided to Bob and his family.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18.
