Veleria D. Clinkscale, 1935-2019

YOUNGSTOWN — Mrs. Veleria D. Clinkscale, 84, of Youngstown, departed this life Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at Omni Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Clinkscale was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Monroe, La., a daughter of Leroy and Bernice Brownfield-Caraway Thomas.

She retired from General Motors, was a union member of United Auto Workers Local 1112, a member of the church, an Eastern Star member and enjoyed singing and dancing.

She leaves her children, Crystal (Theodore) Carpenter, Michael, Jantz (Sheila) and Monique Clinkscale; stepchildren Pamela Freeman and Lavida Clinkscale; 37 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Bobby Clinkscale; a brother, Grady Thomas; a son, Roosevelt “Ricky” Clinkscale; stepsons Bobby Jr. and Dary Clinkscale; and a granddaughter, baby Lorriane Clinkscale.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at New Bethel Baptist Church, Youngstown.

Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church. Arrangements were handled by the F. D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
