Edward J. Hallahan Sr. 1926-2019

LAPEER, Mich. — Edward J. Hallahan Sr., 93, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, while living with family in Oxford, Mich.

He was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of George Hallahan Sr. and Mary Sovak Hallahan.

He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed in Hawaii at the end of WWII.

After service he worked at General Fireproofing, and then as postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office in Youngstown, Ohio.

A dedicated husband blessed with two families, his greatest joy was family life. He also enjoyed playing golf and working on his own cars. He was a longtime member of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church in Boardman, Ohio.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Theresa Perfetto Hallahan; brothers, George Jr. and Jack Hallahan; sisters, Agnes Hallahan Killa Millison and Elsie Hallahan Pernotto; and nephew, Kevin Hallahan, and niece, Mary Lou Ferrara.

Ed leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Dianna Haittas Hallahan; his children, Edward (Jacquelyn Mountain) Hallahan Jr., Michael (Connie) Bane, Victoria Bane (Robert) Wolfcale; a brother, Eugene (Geraldine Geltch Hallahan) Hallahan; and grandchildren, Brian (Chelsea) Wolfcale, Renee Wolfcale (Casey) Drobak, David (Ambree Shea) Wolfcale, Michael (Emily) Bane Jr. and Megan Bane; great-grandchildren, Amber Lynn, Micah, Freya, Luca, Charlotte, Mason Shepard, Findlay Alexander Jett Wolfcale; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank hospice and the Lapeer nursing home staff.

Memorial graveside services will take place 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
