COLUMBUS — The Mahoning Valley has become the hot spot in Ohio for human trafficking arrests, according to a new report from state Attorney General Dave Yost. Lordstown eyes moratorium on businesses using battery storage systems

LORDSTOWN — Saying they want to be prepared in case a business seeks a permit that would utilize small mobile reactors or battery energy storage systems, village council on Monday approved a 180-day moratorium on such permits. Council approved first readings of two motions for the moratorium for any entity that would use small mobile reactors or battery energy storage systems. Man accused of illegal dumping on West Side

YOUNGSTOWN — A man was charged with a minor misdemeanor of open dumping Monday morning after officers went to his home on South Whitney Avenue on the West Side for a dumping complaint. The report states that the officer has received multiple complaints about the man dumping items over the guardrail at the end of the street. KSU Trumbull offers possible new site for 911 Center

WARREN — A possible location for the next Trumbull County 911 Center was introduced to the Trumbull County Commissioners two weeks ago at the Kent State University at Trumbull campus in Champion. Each commissioner on Tuesday noted the KSU location as a promising site for the dispatch center’s new home. The county has been looking for a new location since 2023. Road restrictions in effect in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — One lane of traffic on Park Avenue will be closed to vehicles by Stambaugh Auditorium for a roof replacement project at the facility. The sidewalk near the building is also closed. The project is expected to take about four weeks. Also, Market Street between Breaden Street and Falls Avenue will be limited to one lane of traffic in each direction for about a week. That is because of an emergency sewer repair in the area.
