WEATHERSFIELD — Township fire officials are investigating the cause of a Monday house fire in the 2700 block of Anderson Morris Road that left a resident homeless.

Fire crews from Weathersfield were called out Monday to the fire in a second floor bedroom and attic area of the 3.5-floor house. Fire Chief Tom Lambert said the owner was in a bedroom when she saw smoke and was able to get out of the house without injury.

He said the resident — who told fire officials she had lived at the home since she was a child — was displaced, but is able to stay with relatives.

Lambert said a firefighter did sustain minor injuries. He said the fire was difficult at times to put out, but water was available from the nearby hydrants.
