WHAT: City council meeting April 27
PRESENT: Thomas Grumley, John Moliterno, Keith Schubert. Lily Martuccio, James Clark, Todd Latell, Reynald Paolone, Wes Stein and Mayor Mark Zuppo
Council:
• Heard from Auditor Julie Coggins that speed camera revenue was $22,048 in March with collection for the first three months this year down $120,000 from 2025 and down $365,000 from 2023. She said tickets filed with Girard Municipal Court for March were 386 at $20 per ticket with 50% of the total generated going to the court. Coggins said the city has received $66,127 in revenue from the tickets so far this year. The $20 fee is charged whether the person pays the fine or not.
• Heard from Zuppo that interviews will take place for an engineer for the city.
• Heard from Zuppo that Omni installing fiber must repair dug up properties when they finish by May 1.
• Will have representatives of KO Consulting attend a future meeting to discuss what grants they have applied for and received.
• Heard from Moliterno about meetings that have taken place with the Millennial Theater Company for use in the future of the Wellman Theater.
• Heard from Martuccio that a cleanup of the Stambaugh Park area included collecting 24 bags of trash and 27 tires with help from Girard High School students.
• Announced the annual Memorial Day service will be at 11 a.m. May 25 at the cemetery.
• Announced the street committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. May 22 to discuss future road projects and applying for grants for 2027 projects.
